Isaac Adongo is ‘NEXA’ Financial Star of the year

The Member of Parliament of Bolgatanga Central, Mr Isaac Adongo, has been adjudged the Financial Star of the year at the second edition of the Northern Excellence Awards (NEXA).

A citation which came with the award read that “in recognition of your in-depth knowledge on Ghana’s economy through your brilliant analyses of the fiscal sector and leadership roles among others; organisers of the most prestigious Northern Excellence Awards 2020 find it appropriate to salute you with this distinguished award. On this day, we honour you with the title NEXA 2020 financial sector star of the year.”

Presenting the award to Mr Adongo in his office in accra due to his inability to be present at the main event, one of the organisers, Mr Abdul Latif Alhassan, said the NEXA awards was basically to honour and recognise sons of the north who are doing very well in their various fields of endeavors, being it politics, music, social change activities.

“This year, we are very excited to be here to honour a proud son of the Upper East region who happen to be the Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central. He has done so well in terms of the fiscal environment being it the financial sector with his analyses been top notch.

“We therefore felt it is a very good opportunity for us to recognize what he is doing to uplift the image of northern Ghana and not only his constituency. We are honouring him with the Financial Sector Star of the year and want to send a message that no matter where you come from, you can rise to the top in whatever field you are,” he stated.

 Receiving the award, Mr Adongo thanked the orgnaisers, stating that such awards only meant that he has to raise the bar a lot more.

“It only means that whatever I do that is close to what I did before will be ordinary and it means that I have to up the game a little further in order that I can do things that will impact the discourse a lot better than I have done in the past.

“I am very grateful to you for throwing me this challenge to be better and push myself and improve a lot more. We are all humans and have our weaknesses but awards like this allows you to do introspection which then allows you to find the areas where you can improve in order to move a notch up and I have taken up that challenge,” he pointed out.

He said the areas in which he has been awarded in was one that he is very passionate about because the financial fulcrum around which the entire economic activities revolve, promising that he would continue to impact the discussion around the sector in a positive way.
