The Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) has launched a four-month campaign to celebrate Ghana’s Independence Day and customers of Guinness lovers in a unique style.
Dubbed ‘1759 Celebrates 1957,’ the campaign, which is expected to run between March 1 and June 30 this year, is aimed at giving its customers an opportunity to win a share of GHȼ1million reward and other consolation prizes.
Unveiling the promotion on March 1 in Accra, its Marketing Manager, Ms Lesego Lebogang Mohale, stated that the company was giving away millions of instant prizes which consist of 620,000 free Guinness and half a million of airtime on all the telecommunications networks.
“As an iconic brand that was established in 1759, we recognise strives’ of our fore fathers in the struggle for independence in 1957 and we designed this promotion to celebrate the incredible people and culture of Ghana, the motherland.
“By this, we have also designed a special limited edition celebratory label which contains 62 icons and landmarks that truly celebrate what is means to be Ghanaian,” she said.
She explained that the company had once again proven to be Ghana's favourite stout with the launch of a national consumer promotion.
She explained that the campaign seeks to celebrate Ghana’s independence in a unique manner that demonstrates how Guinness is at the heart of celebrating Ghana and the independence of its people.
“The bold and vibrant Guinness FES Limited Edition Bottle has a celebratory look, but inside the bottle is the same great tasting Guinness that Ghanaian’s know and love.”
To be part of the promo, the marketing manager said consumers should look out for the limited edition celebratory bold Guinness FES nationwide.
“Look out for the limited edition celebratory bold Guinness FES nationwide, look under the crown, you will see a code, text it to 1759 and you could be one of the 88,000 weekly winners.
“We will also be rewarding one lucky consumer per month with GHȼ5,000. In addition, there are also 620 000 free Guinness bottles up for grabs so if you get a crown that says free drink underneath, simply hand it over to the bar staff and you will be rewarded with a free Guinness,” she stated.
According to her, this is the third year Guinness is celebrating Ghana’s independence with a tailor made campaign for the Ghanaian audience.
“From the creation of a limited edition bottle to giving Ghanaians a chance to win their own piece of Ghana in 2018 (in terms of a plot of land), Guinness celebrates the Ghanaian and believes in the independence of Ghana,” she added.
