A retail outlet, Shoprite Ghana, has donated assorted food items and consumables to the Waija leprosarium in Accra as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) for the month of February.

The items included toiletries, bags of rice, cooking oil and detergents.

Ms Dorothy Hayford led a team from Shoprite to present the items on behalf of the company and reiterated the retail company’s commitment to its CSR this year.

Appreciation
The Deputy Director of the facility, Mr George Quansah, who received the donation, thanked Shoprite for the gesture and expressed appreciation to the company on behalf of the Chairman of the Lepers Aid Committee, Rev. Fr Andrew Campbell.

Mr Quansah gave the assurance that the items would be appropriated equitably.

He appealed to other philanthropists and companies to assist the leprosarium.
