The 2020 Ashanti Business and Financial Services Excellence Awards and the Ashanti Business Leaders Excellence Awards Ceremonies, organised under the auspices of the Manhyia Palace, have been postponed indefinitely.

This year’s events had been dedicated to the commemoration of the 70th Birthday of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene.

A media release issued by the organisers said the postponement of the 2020 awards ceremonies had been necessitated by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Director of Top Brass Ghana, the awards organisers, Mr Isaac Dakwa, said  the three awards schemes had been instituted within the context of Otumfuo's agenda for the economic and social development of Ashanti, and of Ghana as a whole.

The Ashanti Business Excellence and the Ashanti Financial Services Excellence Awards schemes have been organised annually since 2004, while the Ashanti Business Leaders Excellence Awards Scheme was established in 2015.

The Ashanti Excellence Awards Schemes have the common complementary objective of honouring business and finance houses as well as individual captains of business and finance who are deemed to have made outstanding contributions to the economic development of Ashanti. The new dates for the 2020 Awards Ceremonies will be announced in due course.
